Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is said to be an all India examination and is primarily conducted to test the comprehensive understanding of the students in different undergraduate subjects in engineering and technology. GATE Topper Marks List is organized by Indian Institute of Science and 7 IITs on behalf of National Coordination Board Gate, the ministry of human resource development, Government of India and department of higher education. The score obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam will reflect the relative performance of in the specific stream across several years. The GATE Score Card obtained by the candidates will be used to provide admissions to the students in postgraduate engineering programs, especially in Indian higher education institutes along with financial assistance.

GATE 2018 Toppers

Admission to PG courses with MHRD and government assistantship or scholarship at engineering institutes and colleges will be given to the candidates who obtain GATE 2018 Toppers marks. In order to obtain the financial assistance, the candidates must secure admission into such a postgraduate programme, according to the current procedure of the admitting college. However, GATE qualification is not needed for those candidates who are looking for a scholarship to enroll with doctoral programmes. The application form for GATE 2018 was made available to the students from September 2018 online and the interested candidates were insisted to submit the application form on or before October 2018. However, the candidates were provided the chance to make changes in the choice of their GATE center until November 2015. The admit card was made available to the eligible candidates from on December 2018 and had to be downloaded from the official website. The candidates were insisted to bring the print out of downloaded admit card to the examination center together with valid and original photo identification. The students can check their GATE examination result just by entering their registration number and birth date. In 2018 GATE examination for CS, EC, CE, ME and EE papers were conducted in multi-sessions. So, for all these papers, an appropriate normalization is deployed to take into consideration all variations in the complex levels of the question papers across diverse sessions. This normalization is accomplished based on the basic assumption that in every multisession question paper, the distribution of capacities of the aspirants is the same across all sessions. This assumption is accepted as the number of candidates who appeared in multi-session papers in GATE 2018 is extremely large and so the procedure for allocating session to candidates is also done randomly. In addition, it is also ensured that for the same multisession paper, the number of candidates allotted in every session is of the same order of enormity. Based on the above aspects and considering different normalization methods, the committee has arrived at a formula to calculate the normalized marks for CE, EC, CS, ME and CE papers.

How to calculate GATE Normalized Marks
